Medha Gupta is the Head of Client Portfolio Operations at the World Bank Treasury, overseeing operations for investment mandates of 75 institutional clients, including central banks, pension funds, and other international financial institutions. Medha has twenty years of experience working in finance and technology and has led implementations of several major initiatives at the bank, including T+1 Settlement, LIBOR transition. Her recent projects focus on the use of AI in Treasury Operations, for which the team won several recognitions including Central Banking’s Asset Services Initiative Award (2025). By introducing machine learning and natural language processing into Treasury workflows, her team has shown how AI can improve data accuracy, reduce operational risk, and save valuable time for asset and liability management teams. Medha is a CFA charter holder, and a Certified Treasury Professional with a background in mathematics and computer science.
