Michael Heffner

Mike leads Appian’s team of industry experts aligned in their mission to bridge industry challenges to Appian differentiated customer value. The team delivers deep industry insights, multi-channel enablement, and thought leadership. Mike also leads Appian’s Value Engineering function that empowers Appian to quantify and communicate value at every stage of the customer’s journey. Being a former Appian customer, Mike brings leadership insights and practical experience to the challenge of driving meaningful business transformation. He is a speaker, author, and thought leader on digital trends and digital responses. He was Managing Director, Business Transformation at State Street Corporation and held management roles at Charles Schwab & Co, and Accenture’s Creating Financial Markets Advantage executive group. Mike earned a BSBA in Economics from UofSC; and an MBA from Babson College. Mike, who grew up in Germany and has traveled extensively, is the founder of AppianVETERANS. He advocates for sustainable business practices at Appian and leads initiatives supporting veterans and sustainability. In his free time, Mike coaches his kids' robotics team.
